By Onoja Baba, Nigeria
Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, is set to swear in seven new ministers on Monday, at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
The announcement was made by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, through a post on his Facebook account on Sunday.
According to Onanuga, the incoming ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment; and Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
The lineup also includes Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, who will serve as Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Idi Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
The appointments come as part of a recent cabinet reshuffle initiated by President Tinubu on October 23, which saw the reassignment of ten ministers to new portfolios, the dismissal of five, and the nomination of seven new ministers.
The nominees were subsequently confirmed by the Senate on October 31, following a thorough screening process.
The new ministers will join the President’s cabinet to address various national priorities, including humanitarian aid, economic development, and educational reforms, as part of Tinubu’s broader strategy to strengthen governance across critical sectors.
