NIGERIA: President Tinubu To Embark On State Visit To Türkiye Starting Monday

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Monday for an official state visit to the Republic of Türkiye at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
According to a statement issued by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy the visit is aimed at deepening the longstanding cordial relations between Nigeria and Türkiye while exploring new avenues for cooperation in key sectors including security education social development innovation and aviation.
The agenda includes high level bilateral discussions on shared interests in finance communication trade and investment. Several memoranda of understanding MOUs are expected to be signed in areas such as scientific research energy technical cooperation media and communications military cooperation and protocol.
A business forum will also take place during the visit bringing together investors from both countries to identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration.
The president’s delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar Attorney General and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa rtd Chairman House Committee on Defence Hon Jimi Benson Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji Ojo Minister of Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
The visit follows President Erdoğan’s official trip to Nigeria from October 19 to 20 2021 and is expected to further strengthen strategic ties between the two nations. Further details on the itinerary and outcomes will be provided as the engagement
