The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has cautioned against the popular opinion of the Nigeria Police Force as corrupt, emphasizing that many officers uphold integrity and professionalism.
In a post on X.com on Saturday, Adejobi defended the reputation of law-abiding officers, stating that numerous personnel are responsible, conscientious, and committed to protecting lives and property.
He wrote: “It’s unfair to generalise that the Police and corruption are 5 and 6, as many officers in the force are decent and even have the fear of God; who have conscience, are responsible, contented, and kind.”
He further urged the public to acknowledge the sacrifices of police officers who work tirelessly to ensure national security, warning against unjust criticism.
Adejobi added: “Don’t trample on the rights of the police officers who work day and night to protect the lives and property of the citizen, with self-esteem and integrity.”
