The Nigeria Police Force has announced the passing of the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Taraba State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdulahi Usman, who died in the early hours of Sunday, March 23, 2025, after a prolonged illness.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, expressed deep sorrow over SP Usman’s passing, describing him as a dedicated officer committed to strengthening police-community relations.
“SP Usman was not just a police officer; he was a bridge between policing and the people. His professionalism, warmth, and relentless pursuit of justice earned him the admiration of his colleagues and the communities he served,” ACP Adejobi said.
SP Usman served as the spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command for three years, during which he worked to foster transparency and trust between law enforcement and the public.
His colleagues remember him as a man of honor and duty, whose service to the force left a lasting impact.
The Force Public Relations Department extended condolences to his family, friends, and officers of the Taraba State Command, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
His funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by his family in the coming days.
