Nigeria – Peter Obi’s Former Spokesman, Okonkwo Asks Obi, Tinubu And Atiku Abubakar To Withdraw From 2027 Presidential Race

The former spokesman for the Labor Party’s presidential campaign council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has urged Peter Obi, alongside President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race.
Okonkwo made this call during an interview on Arise TV, arguing that these leaders have failed to fulfil their promises and effectively unite the opposition.
He stressed the need for fresh faces in Nigeria’s political landscape, criticizing the current leaders for disappointing the public and failing to capitalize on opportunities to strengthen the opposition.
Highlighting missed chances, Okonkwo pointed out that the opposition could have secured key leadership positions in the House of Representatives if they had effectively collaborated.
“The ruling party has failed, and the opposition has failed,” he stated, adding that the opposition has more members in the House of Representatives than the ruling party yet failed to produce the speaker and deputy speaker.
