In a statement he made on X on Monday, following a series of engagements, Peter Obi, the Labor Party presidential candidate in 2023, expressed deep frustration over the deteriorating state of Nigerian roads.
Obi, who recently attended the burial of his esteemed brother Mr. Alfred Nwosu and Pastor Ngozi Mouka in Imo State, recounted his grueling travel experience on Saturday.
He described a six-and-a-half-hour journey from Onitsha to Igarra, Akoko-Edo, which extended to nine hours due to poor road conditions.
The journey, which once took approximately two hours, now features frequent accidents and delays.
Obi noted that his heart kept bleeding, wondering how the country has allowed itself to descend so low to a situation where the leaders no longer care.
