Nigeria – PDP Governors Meet To Strategize and Reclaim All Leadership Positions
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum convened to strategize on reclaiming leadership positions across Nigeria. The forum, which met at the Government House in Enugu on Wednesday, emphasized a united front to restore the party’s dominance and ensure robust governance.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, who chairs the PDP Governors Forum, underscored the critical nature of the meeting, highlighting the party’s resolve to reassert its influence.
He said: “We are here to unify ourselves, discuss issues that affect the party, and various matters within ourselves.”
The agenda was comprehensive, covering governance, inter-party affairs, and strategies to present credible alternatives to the Nigerian populace. Mohammed noted the urgency of the party’s mission, citing concerns about the current national trajectory. “Our assessment shows that the country is heading towards anarchy. We will not allow that because we share history, we share aspirations for Nigerians,” he asserted.
The meeting brought together PDP governors and key stakeholders, including members of the national working committee and various party organs.
The collaboration aimed to formulate a robust approach to reclaim leadership positions held by other political parties.
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, the host of the meeting, received commendations for his hospitality.
The governors present included Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Ahmed Fintiri of Adamawa, and Douye Diri of Bayelsa.
