NIGERIA: NSCDC Arrests Five Suspected Rail Track Vandals, Impounds Truck In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested five suspects and intercepted a truck loaded with vandalised railway tracks along the Bauchi-Jos road.
The suspects were apprehended following an intelligence-led operation after personnel discovered the vandalised items concealed under bags of chicken feed and slippers in Miri village.
The theft of the railway tracks reportedly occurred around Gital town in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
State Commandant Oloyede Nelson confirmed the interception, stating that the five suspects are now in NSCDC custody while efforts continue to apprehend the alleged mastermind and the truck driver, who remain at large.
The operation underscores the Command’s commitment to combating infrastructure vandalism that threatens national assets and public safety.
Exhibits recovered from the scene include 80 pieces of vandalised railway tracks, five pairs of slippers, several bags of chicken feed used for disguise, one long vehicle truck, and a Lexus RX 330 SUV with registration number BWR 60 DN.

le prosecution.
