May, the estranged wife of a Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has disclosed why she has consistently turned down movie roles, despite receiving numerous lucrative offers.
Speaking during an interview with comedian Ayo Makun, Edochie shared that her decision to stay away from the screen was not due to lack of opportunities, but a personal choice.
In her remarks, Edochie recalled a conversation with actress Omoni Oboli, saying, “Omoni said she doesn’t know how I am going to do it, I can’t tell her no.”
She explained that over the past three years, she had been offered various scripts and roles, with producers and directors reaching out and offering substantial payment. “You know, producers have been calling, directors have been calling, some familiar faces have called, and I have rejected everything,” she said.
Edochie further elaborated on her perspective toward acting, noting that despite her versatile skills, she had consciously chosen not to pursue a career on screen.
“I said I didn’t want to be an actor or actress. I know that I am this kind of jack of all trades, master of all kinds, type of person. There are a whole lot of things I can do if I set my mind on it,” she explained, suggesting that her interests extend beyond acting alone.
