Popular Afrobeats sensation, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, famously known as Kizz Daniel, has voiced his displeasure over what he describes as the increasing trend of online begging from his fanbase.
Taking to his official X handle, the “Buga” crooner addressed members of his fanbase, who he tagged as “Vaddicts”, urging them to stop requesting money from him every time he comes online.
“Vaddicts, make una stop all this money thing each time I’m online. Shey we no fit just vibe ni?! Even if God wan use me bless person, it will be in private, not public. Not anymore,” he wrote.
His post quickly sparked a wave of reactions, with fans expressing mixed feelings. While some supported the singer’s call for boundaries, others criticized his stance.
One fan, @GucciStarboi, took offense, writing, “Are you lowkey saying that we your Vaddict fans are giveaway fans?? Delete this post now, we can’t take this from you.”
Another user, @Mygodfather__, drew a parallel between Kizz Daniel and fellow artiste Davido, suggesting both artists are now dealing with the consequences of building fan bases around giveaways.
“This is the effect of gathering fans with giveaways. Davido dey suffers the same consequences too. So hold on for now,” he commented.
Similarly, @realestos added, “Na wetin make Davido get fans o. If you like, go snooze, dem go leave you follow who dey dash money next.”
However, some fans came to the singer’s defense. User @lesbianunits praised Kizz Daniel for setting boundaries. “You’ve got every right to protect your peace. Vibes should be natural, not transactional,” she said.
