NIGERIA: Kate Scott And Jalal Bouzrara To Host Prestigious 2024 CAF Awards In Marrakech

The 2024 CAF Awards, an annual celebration of African football’s finest talents, is set to dazzle fans worldwide on Monday, December 16, at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco.
This year’s event will be co-hosted by two distinguished figures in sports journalism: Kate Scott and Jalal Bouzrara.
The announcement was made through a press release on CAF’s official website, titled “Kate Scott and Jalal Bouzrara to Present 2024 CAF Awards.” The statement highlighted the impressive credentials of both presenters, who are set to bring their expertise and charisma to the grand occasion.
Kate Scott, a globally recognized sports broadcaster, has worked with prominent outlets like CNN, SkySports, and CBS Sports. Fluent in four languages, she has hosted prestigious global events, including the FIFA Ballon d’Or and the Laureus World Sports Awards.
Reflecting on her role as host, Scott expressed her admiration for African football, stating, “It will be a privilege to be on stage and in the room alongside some of the most influential names in football. African football gives the global game soul.”
Her co-host, Jalal Bouzrara, is a celebrated Moroccan journalist with over 30 years of experience in sports media. Known for his acclaimed sports programs L’Match and L’Club, Bouzrara will bring a wealth of experience to the stage.
Having co-hosted the CAF Awards in 2022, he described his return as an honor, saying, “The constant evolution of African football is remarkable, and this event highlights the stars who shine on the global stage.”
The 2024 CAF Awards will spotlight remarkable performances and contributions to African football over the past year.
The men’s shortlist features top talents such as Achraf Hakimi, Ademola Lookman, Serhou Guirassy, Simon Adingra, and Inaki Williams. Winners in various categories will be revealed during the ceremony.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, CAF has confirmed that its Executive Committee will meet earlier on Monday in Marrakech.
According to the CAF website, the meeting, chaired by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe, will discuss the 2025 CAF calendar and other key matters. Following this, Dr. Motsepe will convene with the presidents of all 54 CAF Member Associations.
