Nigerian actress and physiotherapist, Jemima Osunde, has added another academic milestone to her achievements as she bagged a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Suffolk, United Kingdom.
Osunde made the announcement on her Instagram page on Monday, expressing excitement and gratitude as she shared photos from her graduation ceremony.
In her post, the Shuga star revealed that this is her third academic degree, adding that her motivation to pursue higher education alongside her entertainment career stems from her desire to demonstrate versatility and excellence to her future children.
She wrote: “A Master of Science in Public Health. My third degree. Forever doing side quests. Why do I chase academic qualifications and a career in health care even with my existing career in entertainment? My simple answer is why not?”
Osunde, who graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (UNILAG) in 2019, reflected on how she has consistently balanced her career in Nollywood with her work as a medical professional.
“I combined the College of Medicine, Idi Araba with a budding acting career, worked full time for a year in LUTH while still maintaining my career, and now, I have completed my Master’s in Public Health while still being in your faces,” she said.
The actress, who starred in New Money, Lionheart, and This Is It, expressed pride in her academic journey and thanked her family, friends, and team for their support.
She added: “Very proud of myself. Shout out to my friends and family. Shout out to the team that got me ready for my grad.”
Osunde ended her message with a touch of humour, writing that one of her motivations was to tell her children that their “mummy has two heads.”
Her achievement has drawn congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans, celebrating her as a model for young women balancing multiple careers and passions.
