The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has announced a remittance of over N6 billion to the Nigerian government in 2024.
This was made known In its weekly bulletin released on Monday by the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB.
The agency disclosed that it generated a total income of N22.99 billion in 2024, from which N6.03 billion was remitted to the federal government.
JAMB further explained that the N1,500 reduction in UTME form fees for candidates, when multiplied by the number of beneficiaries, increased the effective remittance to N9.01 billion.
The Board highlighted that this remittance represents part of its operating surplus, made possible by the successful conduct of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The statement reads:
“As we reflect on 2024, it is essential to uphold our commitment to transparency by sharing our financial performance for the year.
“In 2024, JAMB generated a total income of N22,996,653,265.25. Out of this, N6,034,605,510.69 was remitted to the government. When factoring in the N1,500 reduction per form for candidates, the total remittance effectively amounts to N9,013,068,510.69.”
