NIGERIA: IGP Orders Posting Of Newly Appointed DIGs To Key Departments

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the posting of newly appointed Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs), to strategic departments within the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
This follows their recent decoration aimed at strengthening the Force’s operational capacity to address security challenges.
According to a press release issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Sunday, the postings include DIG Sadiq Idris Abubakar to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and DIG Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo to the Force Intelligence Department (FID).
Others include DIG Williams Adebowale to the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and DIG Bzigu Yakubu Kwazi to the Department of Operations (DOPs). DIG Adebola Ayinde Hamzat will oversee the Department of Logistics and Supply (DLS), while DIG Idegwu Basil Okuoma takes charge of the Department of Research and Planning (R&P).
Additionally, DIG Sahabo Abubakar Yahaya has been reassigned to head the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA).
The IGP expressed confidence in their ability to enhance the efficiency of the police force and reiterated the commitment to strategic redeployments to maximize personnel effectiveness.
The NPF reaffirmed its dedication to ensuring national security and stated that these postings are part of broader efforts to bolster law enforcement operations across the country.
