NIGERIA: IGP Orders Manhunt For Borno Police Station Attackers, Vows Justice For Fallen Officers

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has condemned the recent attack on the Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State, which occurred on Thursday, at about 12:10 a.m., claiming the lives of Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat.
This was disclosed in a press release signed by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, and posted on Facebook on Friday.
The IGP extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen officers, assuring them that their sacrifices will not be forgotten and pledging that all benefits and entitlements will be promptly paid to their next of kin.
The IGP also directed the Zone 15 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to deploy necessary resources and collaborate with other security agencies to apprehend the attackers and ensure they face the full force of the law.
While investigations are ongoing, the IGP reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and holding those who threaten peace accountable.
