Nigeria – I knew Ajuri Ngelale Would Not Last Up To Two Years In Office – Kenneth Okonkwo

Kenneth Okonkwo, a veteran Nollywood actor and former spokesperson to 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has reacted to the recent leave of absence taken by President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale.
In a statement, he made through his “X” account formerly known as Twitter, Okonkwo noted that Ngelale’s departure was not unexpected, citing both personal and professional reasons behind the decision.
“I knew Ajuri Ngelale would not last up to two years in office as a spokesperson for Tinubu,” Okonkwo remarked. Quoting the biblical proverb, he added, “‘Can two work together except they be agreed?’”
Okonkwo further attributed Ngelale’s exit not only to “pressing medical issues affecting his immediate family, but also to what he described as “terminal medical issues affecting his job.” He hinted that Ngelale may have struggled to align with the demands of the Tinubu administration.
“Ajuri must learn in the future that to be qualified to work for a Tinubu, he must learn to publicly lie at all times and be bold enough to declare that Igbos are aliens in the Niger Delta,” Okonkwo stated, in a clear swipe at what he perceives as the controversial nature of working in the current administration.
Ngelale’s leave of absence has sparked reactions across political circles, with many wondering if he will return or permanently step down from his role. The presidency, however, has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
