Veteran Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has dismissed rumors of her death, affirming that she is alive and in good health.
In an Instagram Live session, the renowned actress addressed the false reports, expressing her frustration over the persistent misinformation.
She noted that such rumors have circulated multiple times, with bloggers frequently claiming she has passed away.
Dokubo said: “Everybody, this is me, healthy and strong. I’m not dead, and I’m not dying now. I’m not afraid. Do you know how many times blogs have written that I d!ed? Every second, every minute, they’re killing one actor or the other. So, it’s not a big deal.”
The false claims reportedly originated from Facebook, alleging that Dokubo was organizing a rally alongside suspended Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara to put pressure on President Bola Tinubu and Minister Nyesom Wike.
The actress vehemently denied these allegations, clarifying that she has no involvement in political mobilization.
“I have no business organizing a rally or anything of the sort. If you know anything about me, you would know that I love to dance and make speeches, not stage political demonstrations,” she stated.
Dokubo also addressed concerns from friends and family, revealing that some individuals had even visited her elderly mother out of worry.
Emphasizing her principles, she reiterated her stance on governance and integrity.
Dokubo asserted: “I was properly raised by good parents. Money is the least of my concerns, and everybody, including Fubara knows that I am not ‘bribable.’ If I were, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be on the side of truth.”
The actress reaffirmed her dedication to advocating for good governance and standing by her beliefs, despite attempts to tarnish her reputation.
“I am not a coward and can never be one. No matter what they do, I will not change my position. But let me be clear: I, Hilda, will never, ever wish death on anyone not even at my lowest,” she concluded.
