Three bodies have been recovered from a helicopter engaged by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company limited, which crashed on Thursday Morning.
Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye in a statement said the helicopter took off at about 11:22am, from Port Harcourt NAF Base en route the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN but lost contact.
The statement explains that the helicopter with Registration Number: 5NBQG, engaged by NNPC Limited, operated by East Winds Aviation had eight eight persons on board (six passengers and two crew members).
The statement says a search and rescue mission is currently ongoing and commiserates with families who lost loved ones in the incident.
