Nigeria – Fubara Swears in 23 Newly Elected LGA Chairmen in Rivers State

By Utebor Paul, Nigeria
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has officially sworn in the newly elected council chairmen of the 23 local government areas in the state.
The ceremony took place at the Executive Council Chamber of the Government House, Port Harcourt, on Sunday, October 6.
This development followed the issuance of certificates of return to the chairmen by the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Adolphus Enebeli, earlier in the day.
The local government elections, held on Saturday, October 5, were marked by tension across the state.
The Action Peoples Party (APP) secured victories in 22 out of the 23 local government areas, while the Action Alliance (AA) won the remaining seat.
