The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has urged the public to disregard circulating reports of an alleged planned attack at the University of Abuja Campus by unspecified individuals, emphasizing its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
In a statement issued by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Saturday, the Command dismissed the rumors as false and the work of mischief-makers attempting to create panic within the community.
“We urge members of the public to disregard these rumors, as they are nothing but the handiwork of mischief-makers seeking to create unnecessary panic and apprehension,” said SP Adeh.
She reiterated the Command’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding lives and property, particularly within the University of Abuja and its environs.
To bolster public safety, the FCT Police Command has implemented enhanced security measures, including increased deployment of personnel, improved equipment, and strategic partnerships with university authorities and local stakeholders.
“The FCT Police Command is fully committed to securing and safeguarding the lives and property of all residents, including the University of Abuja community,” SP Adeh emphasized.
