The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the President of the Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, from detention.
Recall AFRICAN CULTURE TV reported that Ajero was arrested by the DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on his way to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
However, the confirmation of his release was made public through a post on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the NLC.
The post read: “Breaking News, NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero released from DSS detention. The struggle continues; we can’t be silenced.”
Comrade Ajaero’s detention had sparked reactions from labor groups and civil society, who demanded his immediate release.
