Nigeria Dismisses Trump’s Claims Of Large-scale Killings Of Christians
By Onoja Baba, Nigeria
The Federal Government of Nigeria has rejected recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald J. Trump alleging mass killings of Christians in Nigeria and calling for the country’s designation as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the government said Trump’s claims do not reflect the reality on the ground.
According to the statement, Nigerians of all faiths have long lived, worked, and worshipped together peacefully. It added that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government remains committed to combating terrorism, strengthening interfaith harmony, and protecting the lives and rights of all citizens.
The Ministry emphasized that Nigeria appreciates international concern for human rights and religious freedom but insisted that such narratives must be based on facts and an accurate understanding of the country’s security situation.
It further stated that Nigeria will continue to engage constructively with the Government of the United States to foster mutual understanding of regional dynamics and the nation’s ongoing peace and security efforts.
