NIGERIA: Dangote Refinery Cuts Petrol Price To N825 Per Litre

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a N65 per litre reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The price will drop from N890 to N825 per litre, effective Thursday, February 27, 2025.

This was made known in a statement shared by the refinery on Wednesday, saying that the price adjustment is aimed at easing the financial pressure on Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season while also aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery initiatives.

The statement reads: “Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) by N65 per litre, bringing it down to N825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025.

This strategic move is intended to provide relief to Nigerians m Ramadan approaches, while also supporting the government’s economic policies aimed at reducing financial strain on citizens.”

This marks the second petrol price cut in February 2025, following a N60 reduction earlier in the month. Additionally, in December 2024, the refinery lowered the PMS price by N70.50, bringing it from N970 to N899.50 per litre.

Following the latest adjustment, Dangote petrol will be sold at the following rates in partner retail stations: Lagos: N860 per litre, South-West: N870 per litre, North: N880 per litre, South-South & South-East: N890 per litre.
