Popular Nigerian comedian, Nosa Afolabi, also known as Lasisi Elenu, has stirred reactions on social media after expressing unexpected nostalgia for former President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Wednesday, the comedian revealed that he had recently sent a private voice note to the ex-president.
The comedian’s post comes over a year after Buhari left office in May 2023, following his eight-year tenure as Nigeria’s president from 2015 to 2023.
In the voice note, Elenu could be heard addressing Buhari directly, saying, “I miss you, sir,” though he did not provide any specific reason for his sentiments.
“Boss, how is work and the family? I am not sending you this message on behalf of anyone,” Elenu said. “I think I owe it to myself and my family. To be honest, I never thought I would be doing this at this time.”
The comedian continued, expressing difficulty in articulating his feelings: “First, I don’t even know how to say this. I honestly don’t know how to go about this.
I feel like I am just trying my best to be respectful. I miss you. I miss you, God. I miss you, God, abeg, abeg. God help me, I miss you sir.”
