The recently crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina, has denied allegations of identity theft.
Recall that there were controversies surrounding her nationality as she participated in this year’s Miss South Africa pageantry which led to her withdrawal from the contest.
Adetshina, who spoke in an interview on Arise TV, disclosed that she is waiting for the final verdict of her ongoing legal case before making public statements.
“I did not steal anyone’s identity,” she asserted. “I am currently waiting for the conclusion of the case and will decide on my statements based on the outcome. I prefer not to make conflicting statements that could be contradicted by future developments.”
Addressing criticism of her recent victory, which some have described as a “pity win,” Adetshina strongly disagreed. “I do not believe it was a pity win. I worked diligently throughout the 10 weeks we spent in camp during the SA journey,” she stated.
She further stated that, “Although there may have been minor differences, I feel my experience was on par with that of others involved.”
