The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has paid December salaries and pensions to serving and retired workers in the state ahead of the festive season.
This was revealed in a statement by Governor spokesperson, Dauda Iliya, in Maiduguri, on Friday.
According to him, the Borno State governor ensured the early payment of salaries and pensions to provide financial ease for residents as they prepare for yuletide.
Dauda emphasised that Zulum was among the first governors to implement the N70,000 minimum wage in the country as well as the early payments of salaries and pensions foster inclusiveness for a seamless yuletide.
“Governor Zulum has done it again, as the December 2024 credit alerts for workers’ salaries are hitting their bank accounts.” Dauda stated.
He added that the governor of Borno state is committed to fostering multi-inclusivity and socio-cultural bonding among the peace-loving people of Borno State.
Dauda also mentioned that during the presentation of the N585 billion budget to the State House of Assembly, Zulum pledged to significantly improve Bornor workers’ welfare amid economic hardships.
He also acknowledged the positive impact of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on the lives of people in the state.
