NIGERIA: APC Chieftain, Legal Luminary Jesutega Onokpasa Passes Away

Prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart and legal practitioner Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa has died.
The fiery political commentator and party loyalist passed away on Monday, leaving behind his wife and children.
His death was announced on Tuesday by APC supporter Okezie Atani via social media platform X, who wrote: “We lost Barr. Jesutega Onokpasa, may his soul rest in perfect peace.”
The pro-APC group Renewed Hope United Kingdom also paid tribute, describing his demise as “a profound loss to the Nigerian political and legal landscape.”
Onokpasa was a key member of the APC’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council and served on the party’s Publicity Committee.
Known for his incisive political analysis, he became a recognizable face on national television, vigorously defending President Bola Tinubu’s administration and contributing robustly to Nigeria’s democratic discourse.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain undisclosed. Tributes have continued to pour in for the late legal practitioner, with many acknowledging his passionate advocacy and unwavering commitment to his political beliefs.
The APC is yet to issue an official statement regarding the passing of one of its most vocal proponents.
