Africa’s Richest Woman, Alakija Partners Women Ministry, Pledges Support for Nigerian Women

The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, led by the Minister, Barr. Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has secured a significant partnership with Africa’s richest woman, Chief Folorunsho Alakija to provide supports for Nigerian women.
The development was made known by Musa Abdulrahaman, Media Aide to the Minister of Women Affairs, through a statement he made available to African Culture TV on Sunday.
During a recent meeting at the headquarters of The Rose of Sharon Group, Barr. Uju met with Chief Alakija, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited, to explore potential private sector collaborations aimed at uplifting Nigerian women.
Chief Alakija, renowned for her extensive philanthropic efforts, has been a strong advocate for women and children’s welfare, with her charitable initiatives touching numerous lives across the country.
According to the statement, through scholarships, grants, and development programs, Alakija has consistently contributed to improving the socioeconomic conditions of vulnerable groups in Nigeria.
In support of the Ministry’s “Empower Her” campaign, Chief Alakija pledged to enhance her efforts, committing to new initiatives designed to provide Nigerian women with increased access to education, entrepreneurial opportunities, and financial empowerment.
The statement reads, “Barr. Uju visited the Managing Director of The Rose and Sharon Group and Vice Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited at her office to discuss potential collaborations with the private sector.
“Known as Africa’s richest woman, Chief Alakija has a long history of humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors that have positively impacted countless lives, particularly those of women and children. Her extensive portfolio of projects and scholarship programs continues to benefit communities across Nigeria.
“Chief Alakija has pledged to further support women’s empowerment through initiatives, grants, scholarships, and educational programs in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs’ “Empower Her” campaign.”
