By Utebor Paul, Nigeria
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has responded to critics who label him the “Dancing Governor,” emphasizing that while dancing brings him joy, fulfilling his electoral promises and providing the dividends of democracy to the people of Osun brings him even greater satisfaction.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Adeleke addressed comments from a supporter, Iwogoke, who praised the governor for his performance despite criticism from opponents.
Iwogoke said, “I’m not flattering you, Your Excellency, your opponents think you can only dance, but while they are busy shouting and calling you ‘Dancing Governor,’ you are busy fulfilling your electoral promises to the people.”
In his reaction, Governor Adeleke expressed joy in dancing and governing, but emphasized his dedication to delivering development projects across the state.
He said: “Dancing gives me joy, but delivering on my electoral promises and providing the dividends of democracy to the good people of Osun gives me even greater joy,” the governor stated.
He further highlighted key achievements in his administration, noting that the rehabilitation of primary health centers is currently ongoing in at least 200 out of the 332 wards in the state, while road construction is progressing in every local government area.
