NIGERIA: 24-Hour Curfew Imposed on Oro-Ago District as Security Forces Launch Clearance Operation In The Area

A 24-hour curfew has been imposed on the entire Oro-Ago District in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Honorable Abdulrasheed Femi Yusuf announced the imposition of 24-hour curfew on Oro-Ago District.
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued early Wednesday and made available to African Culture Television in Ilorin, the state capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulquadri Jimba.
According to the statement, the curfew takes effect from 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, as part of a coordinated security operation aimed at putting suspected terrorists in disarray and safeguarding lives and property in the area.
It added that “during the period of the curfew, all human and vehicular movements are strictly prohibited across the district to allow security agencies carry out an ongoing clearance operation.”
