Millions Of Cash Rewards Pour In For Flying Eagles Ahead Of Niger Clash

The Flying Eagles have received a flood of cash incentives from prominent Nigerians following their progress to the semifinals of the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast on Thursday.
As the team prepares to face Niger in the semifinals, with an AFCON U-20 ticket on the line, they’ve been boosted by financial support from notable figures across the country.
According to the team’s media officer, Sharif Abdullah, several high-profile individuals have stepped up with cash rewards to encourage the young players.
Deputy Senate President, Sen. Barau Jibrin, pledged N2 million to the team, while Frank Peters, Chairman of Crystal Sapphire Ltd., contributed N1.5 million and promised an additional substantial reward if the Flying Eagles secure victory against Niger.
Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, a former Flying Eagle himself, motivated the team with a generous N5 million contribution.
In addition, Nigerian football figure Mr. Victor Apugo gifted the team N1 million, with a promise to raise it to N3 million if they reach the AFCON U-20 tournament.
Switzerland-based Nigerian coach Adedeji Adeyemi Anthony has also fulfilled his N1 million promise for the team’s win against Ivory Coast.
Mavlon FC Chairman, Barrister Kenneth Agadugba, joined the ranks, donating N2 million with a pledge to increase it to N12 million if the team reaches the finals.
Earlier on Thursday, an unnamed senior staff member of the Nigeria Football Federation rewarded the team with N1 million, while another supporter who wished to remain anonymous contributed N1.5 million.
