Man climbs radio mast in Abuja threatening to commit suicide over economic hardship
By Utebor Paul
One Shaibu Alhaji, has reportedly threatened to end his life due to economic hardship, by climbing the mast of Aso Radio and Television, in the Katampe area of Abuja.
Alhaji, who is said to be from Borno state, noted that he would kill himself if his demands were not met.
He was discovered by the staff of Aso who met him climbing the mast.
He demanded that the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s government should reverse the policy causing the suffering of Nigerians in the country.
According to a letter he wrote, he demanded that it is long overdue for the government to stand by and do nothing, while Boko Haram bandits and Kidnappers are killing people in the country.
He added that it is long enough for citizens to continue suffering from hunger, inflation, and also reduce the number of out-of-school children while the president keeps quiet.
However, despite pleas from passersby and other people at the scene, Shaibu held to his ground of ending his life.
Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Command had, however, arrived at the scene to resolve the situation.
At the time of filing this report, it was uncertain if the man had climbed down the mask.
