MALAWI: VP-Elect Jane Ansah Represents Mutharika At Chief Kwataine’s Funeral

Malawian Vice President-elect, Justice Jane Ansah, on Wednesday represented President-elect Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at the funeral of Senior Chief Kwataine in Ntcheu District.

und.

In her eulogy, Ansah described the late traditional leader as “a symbol of hard work and dedication.” She praised him as “a man who believed in achieving progress through effort rather than relying on handouts, a principle that earned him respect both locally and nationally.”

The late Chief Kwataine was a true leader who valued development and responsibility. He stood for self-reliance and inspired many through his work,” said Ansah.
She also conveyed President-elect Mutharika’s condolences, saying, “Professor Mutharika had hoped to collaborate with development-oriented leaders such as the late Chief Kwataine. His death is not only a loss to Ntcheu but also to the nation at large.”
Community members at the ceremony hailed Chief Kwataine as a pillar of unity and progress, saying his leadership style helped shape development projects in the area. They appealed to the government and local leaders to continue his legacy of prioritising the needs of the peo
ple.

Meanwhile, Ansah pledged the incoming administration’s commitment to working with traditional leaders across the country. She said, “The government recognises the critical role chiefs play in promoting unity, peace, and development in their respective areas.”
