MALAWI: Vice President Ansah Hails Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V For Preserving Maseko Ngoni Culture

Vice President Justice Dr. Jane Ansah has applauded Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V for his unwavering dedication to safeguarding and promoting the Maseko Ngoni culture, describing his efforts as vital in preserving Malawi’s cultural identity.
She made the remarks during a special Maseko Ngoni thanksgiving ceremony held at Malawi Adventist University in Ntcheu District. The event was organized in honour of her ascension to the office of the Vice President.

Vice President Ansah expressed deep gratitude to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for selecting her as his running mate in the recent elections, saying the trust placed in her was both humbling and inspiring.
“I am truly honoured by the confidence President Mutharika placed in me, and I will continue to serve Malawians with integrity and dedication,” she said.
The Vice President also commended the Maseko Ngoni people for their unity and their commitment to cultural preservation, noting that such values play a crucial role in strengthening national identity. She encouraged traditional leaders across the country to continue promoting cultural heritage among young people.
In his remarks, Inkosi Ya Makosi Gomani V urged all Maseko Ngoni to remain united and uphold the values that define their tribe.
“We must love one another, protect our culture, and pass it on to the next generation,” said Gomani V. “Our unity is our strength.”
He further emphasized that cultural ceremonies like the thanksgiving event serve as platforms for bringing people together and reminding communities of their roots.
The ceremony attracted thousands of Maseko Ngoni followers, traditional leaders, government officials and community members who came to celebrate both cultural pride and national leadership. Many attendees performed traditional dances, sang cultural songs, and showcased traditional attire as part of the festivities.
Organizers described the ceremony as a symbol of unity and cultural revival among the Maseko Ngoni, reaffirming their support for national leadership while celebrating their heritage.
