MALAWI: Veteran Karateka Msindira Wins Trophy In South Africa Tournament

Malawi’s seasoned karateka Mike Nkosi Msindira showcased his experience after winning a trophy for finishing fourth at the South Africa National Kyokushin Sonoda tournament held at Orlando Communal Hall in Soweto, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Msindira competed in the veterans’ category during the tournament, which attracted experienced fighters from different countries and clubs.
Speaking after returning home, Msindira said he travelled to South Africa on February 22 and returned to Malawi on March 5 after completing the competition.
“I went to South Africa on February 22 and returned on March 5. I have been training Kyokushin karate for over 30 years,” he said.
He added that participating in international tournaments helps him maintain his skills while also representing Malawi in the sport. Msindira further encouraged young people in the country to take interest in karate, saying the sport promotes discipline, fitness and self-c
onfidence.
