By Smile Hamilton, MALAWI
United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Dalitso Kabambe has called on Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leader and State President Lazarus Chakwera to resign, arguing that he has failed to address the country’s worsening economic and social challenges.

Kabambe said Malawians are currently caught “between life and death” as a result of the difficulties they are facing under the current administration.
Speaking during the launch of the United Transformation Movement Manifesto, Kabambe painted a grim picture of the situation, stating that 65 out of every 100 Malawians experience hunger every year. He added that many citizens have failed to grow into their full potential due to persistent food shortages.

He further revealed that 91 percent of Malawians are unemployed and continue to struggle to secure jobs, while 90 percent of the population lacks access to clean and safe water.
Kabambe emphasized that these are just some of the many problems Malawians are facing under Chakwera’s leadership.
He questioned why a government that has been given five years to fix the country, yet failed to deliver, should be entrusted with another t
erm in office.
