MALAWI: Tragedy Strikes Malawian Football As Goalkeeper Simeon Harawa Passes Away

The Football Association of Malawi and the football community are mourning the untimely death of talented goalkeeper Simeon Harawa, who played for Moyale Barracks FC. Harawa tragically passed away on Tuesday, leaving a void in Malawian football.

The Football Association of Malawi described Harawa as a dedicated player whose passion inspired many, calling his passing a significant loss to the sport. Moyale Barracks FC, where Harawa had been a key player since 2015, confirmed his death, praising him as a committed teammate and player.
Harawa will be laid to rest on Thursday, May 1, 2025, with military honors in Chindewe village, Rumphi District. In a show of respect, the Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has postponed the match between Moyale Barracks and Karonga United, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Mzuzu Stadium.

The football fraternity in Malawi remembers Harawa for his dedication and passion for the sport, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of fans and fellow players.
