Malawian President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has appointed Frank Mbeta as the Government Legal Advisor, Reverend Timothy Khoviwa as Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs, and Cathy Maulidi as Government Spokesperson.

According to the appointments made under Sections 86(1) (d) and 101(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi, the individuals have been assigned their respective roles with immediate effect.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the Government, Dr Justin Saidi, dated October 27, 2025, confirms that the appointees will begin discharging their duties immediately upon appointment.

Dr Saidi stated that the appointments are part of President Mutharika’s commitment to strengthening government communication and advisory structures for effective service delivery.
He added that the new advisors bring valuable experience and expertise in their respective fields, which will help the administration deliver on its agenda of good governance, unity, and development.
The statement further emphasised that the President expects the newly appointed officials to serve the nation with professionalism, integrity, and dedication to duty.
