Malawi President, Lazarus Chakwera, has appealed to Malawians to exercise patience amidst fertilizer shortages, urging them not to panic-buy.
Chakwera’s call for calm comes as Malawi faces fertilizer shortages, which have sparked concerns among farmers. The government’s efforts to address the issue are expected to alleviate the challenges faced by farmers and ensure a successful agricultural season.
He emphasized that distributors aim to ensure equitable access and plan to provide support to those in need. The President reassured citizens that the government is working tirelessly to address the issue.
Furthermore, Chakwera stated that the Affordable Input Program (AIP) will play a crucial role in helping citizens overcome poverty. The program aims to provide subsidized fertilizers and other essential agricultural inputs to vulnerable farmers.
