Malawi Police Arrest And Recover Stolen Items From Two Burglars In Kawale

Malawi Police under Kawale division have arrested two burglars at Area 24, for breaking into the house of a woman police officer in area 24 and carting away some assorted items.
The two suspects, Frank Kamboni, 37 years from Kamboni village, and Jackson Macheso, 35 years from Chitswe village, under Traditional Authority Kaphuka in Dedza, were arrested after they reportedly broke into her house on June 10, 2024.
However, after successfully completing their first mission without encountering any obstacles, they went back on September 9, to cart away her remaining items.
It was also reported that during these two incidents they used unspecified chemicals that caused deep sleep for the victim and slept off, it was later she discovered that unknown criminals had broken into the house and stolen her belongings.
Both incidents were reported to the Area 24 Police Unit. And following the reports, Area 24 detectives launched an intelligence driven investigation leading to the arrest of the two, and recovering all the stolen items which have been positively identified.
The recovered items include a Cellphone Redmi note 12, one Lenovo laptop, sunglasses, clothes and a Flask.
According to the police, the two will appear in court to answer charges levelled against them.
