MALAWI: Partners In Health Donates Vehicles, Motorbikes, Office Materials To Neno DHO

By Smile Hamilton, Malawi
Partners in Health, a non-governmental organization in Neno, has handed over two vehicles, six motorbikes, and various office materials to Neno District Health Office (DHO), to enhance the delivery of quality health services in the district.
The donation aims to support the ‘No Women or Girl Left Behind’ project, which has recently phased out.
According to Jimmy Harare, Community Health Director at Partners in Health, the government, through Neno DHO, will take the lead in ensuring adolescents and young women continue to access quality health services.
This move is expected to bridge the gap in healthcare delivery, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.
Dr. Enock Ndarama, Director of Health and Social Services at Neno District Hospital, praised Partners in Health for the donation, highlighting its impact on reducing transportation costs for patients in hard-to-reach areas.
The donated items will facilitate community work in promoting quality delivery of sexual reproductive health services.
The donation will enable youths in hard-to-reach areas to access critical health services, including screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, HIV testing and counseling, and sexual and gender-based violence screening and linkage to care. Additionally, motivation talks among youths will be conducted to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
The partnership between Partners in Health and Neno DHO is a significant step towards improving healthcare outcomes in the district. With the donated vehicles, motorbikes, and office materials, healthcare workers will be better equipped to reach remote areas and provide essential services to those in need.
