MALAWI: MIDTC Supports Fundraising Aerobics Challenge For Underprivileged Students

By Smile Hamilton, Malawi
The Mzimba Institute for Development Communications Trust (MIDCT) and the Mzimba South Social Welfare Office have partnered to organize an Education Support Fundraising Aerobics Challenge on March 1, 2025.
The event aims to raise funds for 20 underprivileged students, ensuring they can continue their education.
To formalize their collaboration, the two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Christopher Melele, Executive Director of MIDCT, emphasized the importance of the initiative, saying, “This movement empowers young minds by keeping them in school. Every step, every move, and every contribution counts toward a brighter future for our students.”
Bernard Nangwele, Mzimba South Social Welfare Officer, added, “Education is a basic right, but many students in Mzimba South are forced to drop out due to financial difficulties. This fundraiser is an excellent way to engage the community in making education accessible to all.”
The event encourages community participation to help vulnerable students stay in school. By working together, MIDCT and the Mzimba South Social Welfare Office hope to make a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged students in Mzimba South.
