The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has announced that registration for students sitting for the 2026 national examinations will begin on November 10 and close on December 15 this year.
MANEB’s Executive Director, Dorothy Nampota, said the registration exercise covers learners who will be writing the Standard 8, Form 2, and Form 4 examinations.
“This registration period applies to all candidates who will be writing the Primary School Leaving Certificate, Junior Certificate, and Malawi School Certificate of Education examinations next year,” said Nampota.
She emphasized that students in public primary and secondary schools are not required to pay any examination or ID fees, following the government’s policy of free education. “Learners in public schools should not pay any examination or ID fees because the government already announced free education for both primary and secondary public schools,” she clarified.
However, she said private school students and external candidates, including night scholars, are required to pay both examination and ID fees within the specified period. “All private and external candidates must pay their fees on time because MANEB will not extend the payment deadline once it expires,” Nampota warned.
She further urged parents and students to use only official and approved MANEB payment channels, saying, “We encourage everyone to make payments through authorized MANEB platforms to avoid any inconveniences.”
