Senior Chief Nkalo of Chiradzulu District has encouraged traditional leaders and communities to safeguard cultural values.

He made the remarks at Namitembe Secondary School during the installation ceremony of Sub-Chief Maoni III, Innocent Kwezalamba.
Chief Nkalo stressed that besides promoting cultural heritage, chiefs must serve as peacemakers and unite their people to avoid conflicts and dishonesty.

In his acceptance speech, Sub-Chief Maoni III pledged to serve with dedication and urged the community to join hands in advancing development projects in the area.
Guest of Honour Charles Chiotcha, who chaired the ceremony, thanked all participants who contributed to the success of the event, which showcased various traditional dances.
Sub-Chief Maoni III was officially installed on 24 July this year.
