KENYA: Wetang’ula Calls for Tougher Road Safety Measures After Webuye Crash

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has called for firm action against reckless drivers following the tragic accident at Malaha Junction in Webuye, Bungoma County, that left 15 people dead and more than 21 injured.
“We strongly condemn the reckless actions of the truck driver responsible for the tragic accident which claimed 15 lives,” said Wetang’ula.
He urged Members of Parliament to tighten regulations governing the transport sector to prevent similar tragedies.
President William Ruto has assured government support to the bereaved families, while the Bungoma County Government will cater for the medical expenses of the
injured.
