KENYA: UDA–ODM Alliance Backs Mediation Team to Fast-Track NADCO Agenda

President William Ruto has reaffirmed the commitment of the broad-based government to deliver on its development agenda, including stabilising the economy, reducing the cost of living and strengthening national unity.

Speaking during the United Democratic Alliance–Orange Democratic Movement Joint Parliamentary Group meeting at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, the President said the government had made progress in implementing key priorities under its 10-Point Agenda.

“The broad-based government continues to deliver on its mandate to the people, including uniting the country, stabilising the economy, lowering inflation and expanding health coverage under the Social Health Authority,” President Ruto said.

The Head of State added that the government has also prioritised infrastructure development, youth employment and increased funding to counties to strengthen devolution.

On governance and justice reforms, the President said the administration has implemented police reforms and compensation for victims of protests, while urging the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights to propose legislation on the protection of protestors.
