President William Ruto has met 12,353 United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirants seeking various elective positions in the 2027 General Election, as the ruling party steps up early preparations for the polls.
The meeting, held at State House, Nairobi, brought together 149 gubernatorial aspirants, 279 Senate hopefuls, 323 women representative aspirants, 1,372 parliamentary contenders and 10,230 aspirants for Member of County Assembly positions.
Addressing the aspirants, President Ruto said UDA remains committed to issue-based politics that unite Kenyans and move the country away from tribalism, division and personality-driven leadership.
“Our party continues to set a new standard by embracing agenda-based governance that serves all Kenyans, devoid of tribalism, hate and division,” the President said.
Ruto noted that more than 80 per cent of the Kenya Kwanza manifesto commitments have already been delivered, adding that the bottom-up economic model has helped stabilise the economy and improve livelihoods.
