By Moses Punyuah, Nairobi
President William Ruto on Tuesday chaired a special meeting of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Governing Council at State House, Nairobi, bringing together top party leadership to review progress and chart the party’s political direction ahead of 2027.
The closed-door meeting was attended by Deputy Party Leader and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, governors, Members of Parliament and MCAs from across the country.
Addressing the leaders, President Ruto said the ruling party remains focused on delivering its promises to Kenyans through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
“We have made steady progress in implementing our manifesto, and our priority remains delivering tangible results that improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans,” President Ruto said, urging party leaders to stay united and focused on service delivery.
The President noted that UDA must continue strengthening its grassroots structures while supporting government programmes aimed at job creation, enterprise growth and economic stability.
Deputy President Kindiki said the meeting reaffirmed the party’s commitment to unity and disciplined leadership as preparations for the next general election begin.
“As a party, we are consolidating our structures, listening to our members, and aligning our political work with the government’s development agenda,” Kindiki said.
The council also discussed coalition-building efforts, ratification of resolutions from recent party organs, and plans for repeat grassroots elections in selected polling centres across 42 counties.
UDA leadership said more details will be communicated as the party continues to roll out its nationwide reorganisation and m
obilisation plans.
