KENYA: Ruto Chairs 12th Intergovernmental Summit, Calls For Faster Implementation Of Resolutions
By Moses Punyuah, Nairobi Kenya.
Kenyan President William Ruto on Wednesday chaired the 12th National and County Governments Coordinating Summit at State House, Nairobi, reaffirming the strengthening partnership between the National and County governments.
He said the collaboration has “turned counties into engines of growth,” citing gains in healthcare under the Social Health Authority reforms, agricultural value chains, County Aggregation and Industrial Parks, and the adoption of digital systems to modernise services.

The President noted that, for the first time, Kenya has fully delineated, unbundled, and gazetted all devolved functions, ensuring clarity and proper allocation of resources.
However, he expressed concern over delays in implementing past summit resolutions, urging all institutions to “act with urgency” to uphold the spirit of intergovernmental cooperation.
