Speaking during a ceremony at State House, Nairobi, on Thursday, Ruto praised the athletes’ performance and said their victory showcased Kenya’s dominance in world athletics.

Gold medalists will receive Ksh 3 million, silver winners Ksh 2 million, and bronze medalists Ksh 1 million.
“This team has made Kenya proud. Their discipline and determination are unmatched,” Ruto said, appearing emotional as he addressed the champions.

He also pledged that medalists at the 2025 World Athletics Championships will be rewarded with affordable housing, a model already applied to Harambee Stars after CHAN 2024.
